Habitat for Humanity is a grassroots, community based organization that relies on local volunteers to build homes and hope in west St. Tammany Parish.
There are many ways to become involved in Habitat's work. Volunteer once a week, once a month, or once in a while. Volunteers can help in one or more of the following areas:
Individual Construction Volunteers build homes every Tuesday through Saturday.
Volunteer Groups of between 3-10 individuals from faith partners, corporations, and civic organizations work at our construction sites (Tuesday - Saturday) or ReStore (Monday - Saturday).
ReStore Volunteers prepare donations for display, assist customers, run the cash registers, and help keep the ReStore clean and organized. ReStore is open Monday - Saturday.
Youth Volunteers can support Habitat's mission through various projects they can complete at home, school, or church.
Committee Volunteers support vital aspects of Habitat's program including family selection, family support, special events, development and fundraising, faith relations, community relations, site acquisition, Women Build and Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Office Volunteers work behind the scenes to assist with the overall operation of the organization's various departments -- volunteers, family services, development, human resources, and facilities management.
