Home ownership is an American dream, and one family will be living the dream this Fourth of July. Sandy Payne, with the help of family and friends, has completed the hours of “sweat equity” needed to pick out the location of her new home to be built by Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West.

MANDEVILLE, LA -- Some of the top boutiques in St. Tammany Parish provided the styles for a fundraiser luncheon on Friday in Mandeville.

The money helps cover the costs of building homes for Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West. More specifically, the funds will help the group's Women Build program which brings together women to construct one of the Habitat homes.

Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West celebrated the dedication of homes for the Barrie and Barker families June 4 in Covington. Construction of the homes began in November.

Both homes were blessed by Church of the King's Dream Team community liaison Keith Bobb-Semple, and Habitat STW President and CEO Jeff St. Romain spoke on the homebuyers' journeys to homeownership.
